You can use the dictionaries in two ways:
- Use the "browse" features at right to click on any letter of the alphabet
to get a list of all words in the dictionary starting with that letter, or
- Use the search engines to search for a specific word.
To use the English-Uighur search engine, simply type the English word into the input field
to get an Uighur translation. The search engine works best when you enter
one word at a time. In some cases, the search will return several different
versions of the Uighur word. The correct use will depend on context.
The Uighur-English search engine works the same way (vice versa). Please note that we have
re-arranged the Uighur alphabet somewhat for ease of searching. To see a chart
of the actual order of the Uighur alphabet,
click here.
