Comments: uyghur script was used as an official court language in Ottoman Empire until 16 century - as well Tibetians and Mongols use it today

Comments: Dear Clara and Tugluk aka! Great job! I really like your site. I knew Clara was working on it for quite a long time. I'm glad Tugluk aka can inspire his girls to learn Uighur language been far away from our land. Please let me know if I can do something for your site. I can speak Uighur very well but not good in writing at all. I can do something to translate from russian.
Best, Maisam

Comments: Cultural misunderstandings between Turks and Turkish-Cypriots.

Turkish-Cypriot Directness

The Turkish-Cypriots` directness in communication with Turks (from Turkey) regularly causes misunderstandings. Unable to make things understood through context and unable to read context, the Turkish-Cypriots express themselves verbally.

They speak in a friendly tone in rather short, clear, sober sentences lacking any form of politeness or courtesy.

The Turkish-Cypriots are distrustful of very polite conversations, afraid that an unpleasant message may be hidden which they are unable to detect.

Being very nice may awaken the suspicion that one is in need of a special favor. Politeness may also cause irritation as it is considered a waste of time.

Comments: Assalam alaikum. Thank you so much for all your work on this site - it is a very good resource for those of us who wish to learn this fascinating and beautiful language.

If I may make a suggestion - it would be very helpful if you would include a guide to conjugating Uighur verbs in past, present, and future tenses. I have tried to figure this out from some of the sample phrases, but am finding it difficult to figure out the patterns. I would appreciate the help of anyone who could explain this to me...
Rahmet!

Comments: Hello! It's really a big surprise for me to find this site!
My name is Guo Lei,and I'm 23 years old.I'm from the city of Urumuqi, the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region in China.Although I am not a Uighur boy,I am very interesting in learning the Uighur language and cultures! And I am not a Han Majority,I am a Xibe boy.And I would like to tell you all that the Xibe is also a minority race in Xinjiang. We xibe people like to learn different languages of different races. And our own alphabet includes the pronounciations of Uighur,Russian,Chinese and a little of Japanese.Even the grammars are also much the same like Uighur language. So maybe it's not hard for me to learn Uighur language.I like Uighur Language very much, and some of my classmates are also Uighur.I often learn something about Uighur language and cultures form them. They once gave me a lot of help, and I must say Rahmat to them.I would like to find some friends here,to learn the Uighur language together. If someone who is interested in my opinions, please write an email to me.My email address is advance_sp04@sina.com.
Thanks to all of you, dear Clara and Tughluk ,you are great!Rahmat!Allah bless you!

Dear Clara and Tughluk ,
I love it ! wow......it is getting even cooler an cooler, eally
fantastic! wonderfull this let me put in the deepest thoght of Uighur spirt to keep on going all the way to the day of our freedom. such a rich language - Uighur our mothers had taught us would be shined again only by the hard work of her children upon in the new era of Uighur people's struggle for selef determination and freedom in the last resort.
i am at lost for a word for express my gratitude to you all. but i would pray for the rewarding job and all my brothers and sisters all over the world that mother toungue would be freed. this is the first step to preserve our identitiy in the long run.
May allmighty Allah bless us with her!
wish you all the best !
with kind regards and salam
